Polymer Clay Perfume Pen - #2

These perfume pens are great for those that are on the go or enjoy traveling. Why cart around a cumbersome, often very breakable, bottle when you can do your scent touch-ups on the go with these compact and stylish pens?

Each pen is equipped with a cotton tip applicator, so no need to worry about the often finnicky mechanical pieces of spray applicators (this non-spray option is also less intrusive to those around you that might have scent sensitivities). Simply twist of the cap and gently rub the cotton tip to the desired area until the strength of the scent is to your liking. Recap the pen and pop it back into your purse, bag, or pocket, and off you go, refreshed and smelling great!

These perfume pens are compatible with perfume, cologne, and essential oils. All perfume pens come with filling and refilling instructions, as well as instructions on how to change scents (with the exception of essential oils. Due to the oil's heavy viscosity the scent cannot be completely eliminated.)

* Perfume pens do not come with perfume/scents. They are sold empty so you may fill them with your desired choice of scent.

  • Polymer Clay General Care & Maintenance

Polymer clay is a very versatile material and can essentially last for years, if not decades, if the proper care is taken. To maximize the lifespan of your polymer clay product please read the following:

    1. Polymer clay is water resistant. Temporary exposure to water will not damage polymer clay or affect the quality of any patterns or designs within the clay itself (i.e. millefiori). If your product falls in water or becomes wet/moist take a dry paper towel and very gently pat the piece until it is dry before storing it.

    2. Polymer clay is heat resistant up to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. It is not flame resistant. Direct flame will blacken the clay and/or create bubbles, so avoid letting polymer clay come into direct contact with open flames or heated elements (i.e. stove, oven, BBQ elements, etc.)

    3. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures. If you have purchased a piece that you wish to keep outside please make sure to bring it inside before first frost and store it somewhere safe until outdoor temperatures return to steadily above freezing. Polymer clay becomes very brittle and can crack and break easily when exposed to freezing temperatures.

    4. Polymer clay can be quite rigid depending on the thickness of the clay surface. For surfaces that are less than 1/4" in thickness take care to avoid situations that might force the clay to bend as there is a good possibility that the pressure could cause the cured clay to break/snap. If this occurs and you wish to repair the piece both superglue and epoxy are safe to use, though make sure to follow product guidelines to ensure you handle the glues safely.

  • Filling Your Perfume Pen

Please follow these step-by-step instructions to successfully fill your polymer clay perfume pen:

    1. Uncap your perfume pen, exposing the cotton applicator tip.

    2. Dip the cotton applicator tip into your chosen perfume, cologne, or essential oil. Do your best to ensure that just the cotton tip is submerged in the liquid to avoid waste.

    3. Allow the cotton application tip to rest in your perfume or cologne for 7-10 minutes (you may leave it soaking for up to 15 minutes for a "super charge"). For essential oils please allow the tip to rest for 10-15 minutes in the oil, due to the heavy viscosity it takes longer for the cotton applicator tip to absorb and transfer the oil to the felt storing liner in the inner chamber.

    4. Remove perfume pen from perfume, cologne, or essential oil and gently dab the tip on a small piece of paper towel to remove excess perfume that has not been absorbed by the cotton tip applicator.

    5. Replace cap and screw on until finger tight and edge is snug against rubber "o" ring seal. Do not overtighten as excessive pressure/twisting can cause the clay design to crack.

  • A Little Bit About Millefiori

All polymer clay pens, perfume pens, and compartment key chains are created using blanks an altered glass blowing technique called millefiori. This technique has been around for millennia, but it hasn’t been until recently that the technique has been modified to be used with polymer clay. The millefiori patterns Star Gazer uses are created in-house and crafted by hand. Once the design is complete it is slivered and applied to pen cases by hand, this ensures that, even if the same millefiori design is used on multiple items, the finished design will never be completely identical. Each piece is one of a kind.
